Critics claimed that Motown had betrayed black America by caving in to Berry Gordy's ambition to cater to white audiences. Southern R&B was hailed by rock communities as the "genuine deal." James Brown frequently imposed fines on musicians who committed errors while performing.

Why did Gordy decide to relocate the studio to Los Angeles?

Gordy relocated Motown to Los Angeles, California, after the 1967 Detroit Riots and the departure of the important songwriting and production trio Holland-Dozier-Holland due to wage disagreements. Motown diversified into the creation of movies and television.

At the Berlin Conference, European colonial powers imposed irregular borders on the countries of North Africa, rejecting local physical characteristics, tribal affiliations, and cultural differences in favor of geometric, straight lines.

The impact of geography on the political borders of the North African region was best explained by the natural boundary type. The boundaries were drawn with irregular lines that took into account topographical features like mountains or water bodies. The colonial powers knew how important it was to take these natural boundaries into account when dividing up the land. This boundary type ensured that the borders were created in a way that respected the physical differences in the environment while making sense in the context of the local geography. This approach was distinct from geometric boundary types that produced straight lines without accounting for local realities, geographic features, or cultural variances across tribes.
